I have a 2026 Platinum & I’m looking to add some spacers to my stock 20-in wheels.
Curious if anyone has done this w/20-in wheel, and how did it turn out?
Photos appreciated!
Secondly, any recommendations for a brand of spacer? Thanks a bunch!

I have to ask why. Also, knowing your objective might get you better info.

I’ve got the wider mud-flaps going in shortly plus having the outer edge of the tire out further/flush w fender flare would fill the fender well better, look better, give it a wider stance and probably handle better too.
~ So I’m looking for anyone who’s done this to a Platinum/Limited w/20-in wheels.

the look vs the added stress to the hub bearing/assembly (mainly ball joint/wheel bearings) and other suspension components is not worth it in the long run.

you are pushing the weight farther out than what the oem specs are allowing, it will eventually cause the bearing to wear out faster.

Like most modifications, wheel spacers are neither inherently “good” nor “bad.” However, they can increase wear and tear on particular components. Front-end components, like ball joints and wheel bearings, are the most plagued by the added strain of wheel spacers. That being said, this isn’t unique to spacers—any modification that increases leverage on the hub, like wide wheels, negative offset, or oversized tires, has a similar effect.

Another consideration is payload and towing capacity. While many spacers are rated for use on trucks, it’s vital to confirm the spacer's load rating before hooking up a heavy trailer or loading the bed with cargo.

Don't be cheap. Get proper wheels with low offset if you want to tough, wide look. Why risk your life & safety to for an inch wider so you can flex with other Toyota in Hawaii? 🤦🤦

just install a good set of aftermarket wheels. around 20mm offset will get you about 1in of poke past the fender well without even using spacers

the oem offset is like

45 for the 20in wheels
55 for the 18in wheels
50 for the 17in wheels

you will be hard pressed to find aftermarket wheels that even come close to oem offsets to justify spacers to get some poke.

im using 20mm offset wheels from fuel and here is the poke

As a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist, I have seen what happened in the video in real life. The further out you push that moment arm, the more stress you're placing on the proper mounting point.

I always explained it to people like this. Your finger can support more weight where the finger attaches to the hand. The further out you move that weight, on the finger, the less you can hold.
