2500 miles on 2026 ORP. Within the first few days, I softly wiped a small section of the rear window with a clean microfiber towel and you would think I had a diamond stuck in there. Deep scratch, legitimately did not press on the towel.

Similarly tried to wipe some dust off the gauge plastic with a clean towel, tons of micro scratches.

Windshield is more pitted than my Jeep GC with 185K miles on it and I barely drove it this winter.

Anybody else having this issue?

Literally the first day I had my 4runner i got a rock chip on the windshield. Could just be bad luck but I had zero rock chips on my 100 land cruiser over 8 years of ownership. Whatever hit the windshield didn't sound very big, I never would have thought it damaged the windshield.

That is exactly why I threw on the Screenprotech kit before my trip to NM. Gauge, infotainment, AC controls, and shifter all covered. That stuff is so soft it's crazy.

2025 4Runner TRDPro. Previously a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude.
I've replaced two windshields in 5 weeks and have had the car for a year. The first was destroyed driving through a windy sandstorm. Had it replaced through the Toyota windshield insurance. The second one took a stone in the corner 5 weeks later, and a crack spread half the length of width of the windshield in a hour. Replaced it with the Toyota insurance again. It wasn't even a big rock. My previous vehicle was a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and had the same windshield for 8 years...

Just upped my personal car insurance to include $50 deductible windshield replacement., as I feel there will be many more replacements in the future...

I feel like I have been beat and switched by all the Toyota Bros on the quality. 2014 Jeep grand Cherokee was much higher quality in every aspect thus far

you think there’s any brand new cars coming out that are as of the quality they were 10 plus years ago? haha. A new jeep would have 10x the issues that a new 4runner would have I’d bet my house on it.

sad/happy for me (depending on how you look at it), outside of the 23 tundra, i dont have most of the issues people have on the toyota vehicles in the last 40 yrs.

and thats going from buying toyota's in GA in the 80s and 90s to ND since.

and the range of different toyota's is from one end to the other.

cressida's, avalon's, paseo, corolla, camry, higlander, rav4, 2wd truck (that what it was called), 4runners, tacoma's, tundra,

i have some pet peeves of things but in the grand scheme of things long term, its not a big deal. (1st world petty problems)
