Just checked my 2026 Pro with 500 miles and it appears I have a similar mark, Hoping it is just from casting.

Ok! If there is no defect, can you take a picture so I can go to another dealership with a reference on what it's suppose to look like? That way, they won't give me the BS about it being a casting mark.

I seem to have a few marks/“scratches” in that area as well, most of which are superficial. Only the one circled is a little “deep,” but honestly, it doesn’t feel very deep at all. Pretty sure these are casting marks on mine, but I’m curious what others think. Totally outside of my wheelhouse

Wow that's actually crazy. I doubt this is gonna be the last time we see those marks that look like cracks. I really appreciate you guys helping me out and now I don't have to worry about this vehicle being unsafe to operate! :)

Update: So I went to the dealership and they asked me to point out the area where the crack is. I showed them and they called over 2 master technicians to examine that area. They determined that it is a casting line since most cracks start at the edge of the part and not the middle. However, I don't believe them because a casting line is supposed to bump out and not dent in and have a bunch of cracks splitting off from the main crack. Can someone please take a picture of their component so I have proof that my vehicle has an issue (or proves that it is indeed a casting line)?

take a small file and file that casting mark smooth with the rest of the diff. Any line should just disappear into the body of the casting. If you still see a hairline in there then most likely is a deeper casting or a crack. Just my two cents

you have a point. proud casting marks are fine...ignore them or file them down...
but recessed ones means there may be more cavities internally, or more depth to
the imperfection.

I am worried that if I do that and it turns out it is a deeper crack, the dealer might say that my action voided the warranty.

Those don’t look anything concerning to me at all. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen those on other vehicles all the time without giving a second thought.
