Rolled off the lot last month with a brand new ORP. Less than 2 miles on it. I'm at 1300 miles and already changed the oil once. Plan to change it again at 2k and again at 5k.
My problem is that I was modifying the settings on my gauge cluster and found the location to "reset oil life." But it appears I can't set my oil change interval. It appears to be locked at Toyotas recommended 10k interval. I don't care about setting it to 1500 or 3000 miles during the break in period.
I care about being able to set it to 5k miles once I've owned it for a bit longer and not paying constant attention to the odometer. I refuse to run oil for 10,000 miles between changes. My 20 year old Jeep allowed me to choose an oil change interval.
Your telling me a brand new vehicle in 2025 won't let me choose my oil change intervals?
