Saw Torque News article today saying people are trading in their 6G 4Runners early, I'm a satisfied owner. I just bought my 2025 Hybrid premium the beginning of December, did 600 mile break-in around my area, then headed out for my first 3,000 mile road trip to California, Oregon, Arizona, and Utah. My wife and I loved driving in my 4Runner. Comfortable, responsive, great tech, a pleasure to drive. I'm very happy I bought my silver baby.
It drove great on roads and on a few dirt roads. We were on a dirt road near Bryce Canyon that turned into a red mud bog unexpectedly, I was in 2LO and the automatic tracking worked fantastic. I was in deep shit if I got stuck out in the middle of nowhere. The 4Runner powered thru it. I was so happy how it performed! The 14" screen with Google maps and onXOffroad was so great. The JBL system is very good, not impressive. I was spoiled in my last car that I had a aftermarket $3000+ stereo system, so not comparing apples to oranges.

I have a few minor disappointments:
My wife says her feet are cold on the passenger side unless I turn the heat way up. No idea why.
The mileage was less than I expected, only 19.6. I drive at about 72 on the freeways in ECO mode. I did remove the goofy air dam.
I do have the back seat sensor constantly give a warning (which goes back off on its own).
Sometimes the rear hatch door button to close doesn't respond the first time I touch it.
I have the dealer look at these issues at 5000 miles.
The internal storage space is very limited. I have a Westcott Designs lo-profile rack on order due late January and that should solve that problem.

I took my wife’s Audi to the dealership the other day for warranty work and saw an Everest TRD Off-road that had been traded in. I did a double take because I was surprised to see it there, but it had the dealership logo plate where the regular front plate would go, so it wasn’t a customer or employee vehicle just parked there. I personally love mine but to be fair, after the initial excitement from 4Runner enthusiasts wore off, they’re not exactly flying off dealer lots at least in my area.

Saw same but on a different site. Just click bait sites that goes off random internet comments. When I don't resist the urge and click what they like is always apples to oranges and usually junk

People get rid of brand new cars all the time. Average vehicle price is at its highest ever along with basic groceries, so people are feeling the pain. I doubt there’s anything statistically meaningful to show this is happening with new 4Runners over peers…

Yeah I have the silver one as well, took the air dam off, took off running boards because they're just dirt collectors and every time I got out or in, my pants on the back would be covered with smudges of dirt and crap. Same issue with my 5th gen running boards.

You can turn off rear seat reminder messages in your center console controls. But you have the hybrid I have the Petro model not sure if there's differences..

My next upgrade is going to be leveling kit and new Wheels. I'll probably just run the tires out because you can never sell them! it seems like everybody wants them for nothing anyway. Good luck

Nonsense article. It id the same people who always trade in brand new vehicles to get the next new thing. Been happening for decades.

Yes, I'm ditching the stock running boards and have on order Westcott Design Rock Sliders with kick-Out and top plates to help get up to the roof rack.

I have my silver baby in the wrap shop today to have PPF wrap done on the front, partial hood, and sides up to the windows and back to the tail gate.

This weekend (assuming the wrap is done) I'm installing Baja Design lighting: behind the grill lights, replacing the stock driving lights with amber fog lights, and install two lights in the rear.

Once the lo-profile rack is on, buy an awning. Haven't decided on what style or brand. My goal is to keep the overall height of my 4Runner to 81.5" so I can still get it into my garage. I may need to make custom mounting brackets.

Then I'll think of more my new toys for my silver baby...
