After reading this post, I'm guessing they will just chop it from a Tacoma frame. Probably just weld that whole trailer hitch section and put it back together. Glad to hear you have a diminished value in your state. My insurance company does not support a diminished value here in California but most likely it's just my insurance.
Also, probably the 4Runner is too new for aftermarket parts like body and hatch.
When I was rear-ended I had a 23 Subaru and everything they put on it was Factory fresh, except the hack job they did on the rear section frame. Took a massive 25% hit on the value of the car. No dealer will give you anything of value because of that moderate type damage. They look for those kind of things to steal the car from you, then they will wholesale it out for a profit. Used cars are the biggest profit margin in the whole car industry.

Sorry to be a dark cloud . This will pass .
Just my two cents good luck
I hope it doesn’t come to that but time will tell.

Following with interest because before purchasing, my neighbor who owns an auto body repair mentioned that the new 4Runners and Tacomas if they get rear ended are often totaled because the frame gets bent. From what I recall there isn’t a back bumper it’s just a bumper skin. Replacing the frame is not trivial. Basically taking the whole vehicle apart.

No advice. Other than I’d be pissed. Glad you weren’t hurt. But that sucks so bad.

Well you were pretty accurate. They are not doing a full frame replacement which I am thankful for as far as resale value is concerned. The back black piece that is under the rear bumper is available in sections so they are replacing that and welding it back on. Even with a full frame replacement it wasn’t going to be enough to total. Parts have been ordered so hopefully won’t be much longer.

Thinking about going back to a 3rd gen Tacoma which is what I had before I purchased this 4Runner. We will see what it looks like and how it drives once this nightmare is over

Yeah that was my guess when you showed the pics. After looking at my frame I see that they have it broken down into sections. Which would lead me to believe that they would just release those welds and put in a new piece.
