I rather have the extra payload sans battery. My gas ORP is just fine with almost anything I have towed. I have never been slower than 55-60mph on mountain roads with a trailer and I usually never want to faster than that with any heavy loads.

BTW, the 6th Gen has beat out my old 5th Gen with heavy trailer pulls. MPGs are a bit lower but the experience is better on the 6th Gen.

People that say that are just jealous because they can't afford it. Sure you can put low quality junk and throw parts at it. Good luck with that.
😂

No.

I didn't buy one because the colors aren't my cup of tea and the intake is stupid. Jealous. Lol.

I agree with the being better than the 5th gen, especially the transmission. Monarch pass in Colorado 6% grade and holds the speed limit. Plus in Texas where I live, 85 mph speed limit pulling that same trailer it doesn't even breathe hard. I do a lot of rock crawling and severe off-road, the extra power made a difference. Traded in my hybrid Jeep for it, it had more horsepower by quite a lot but I don't notice the difference all that much. Except for reliability that is, Jeeps suck.

I could do without the intake but when driving down the highway at speed you don't hear it, plus plus the Trailhunter trim has insulated windows and active noise cancellation. I don't particularly like the colors either, but I didn't want the TRD Pro because of the fake Hood scoop and lack of full body armor from front to back like the trailhunter has.

None of that makes anybody jealous.

Coming in somebody's thread to yuck their yum and call people jealous says more about you than anybody else.

Well it is pretty ridiculous to think you can make a base model into a Top model by bolting things on. Reminds me of that redneck down the street, has 6 cylinder Camaro and took the badge off and put a V8 badge on it. LOL.

That's not what's happening here. And again, this is saying more about you than them. You're going out of your way to crap on somebody's thread about doing something they enjoy, and acting superior about it. Get over yourself.

except im keeping all the badges on and just modifying the car. so actually the complete opposite of what you described :) I feel like you are taking this very personally but i can assure you it doesnt devalue your vehicle at all. you should feel proud that someone with a lower trim has your vehicle as their end goal! be happy!

Cant afford it? This is comical. I can easily afford a Trailhunter, but my wife didnt want the hideous interior and the 4runner is her vehicle so we passed on it. I drive a 2026 Tundra.

You are the jealous one....

Wow - this thread turned ugly pretty quick…lol. Almost regret making a joke about how useless the TH roof rack is in terms of accessories…almost. Anyway, to each his own.

You can absolutely turn a base model 4runner into a Trail Hunter. Comparing putting badges onto a camaro is an insane reply. The entire drivetrain in a Trail Hunter is EXACTLY the same.

Quite a bit of work and money to do that, MTS, disconnect, rear axle being a 9.5" instead of a 8", might even have beefier CV's. Not sure on that one but I see no problem someone going after the look of a TrailHunter. Why buy a 4 Runner if your not gonna mod it...

All depends on how you approach it.
