Anyone else have this happening with your new 4Runner? I only hear this sound when the weather is warm and above 30mph. I’ve been to the dealership twice and they cannot find the cause/issue.

YES!!! Been to the dealer twice for this and they claim they can’t hear it. Been driving me nuts since day 1 and no one knows what it is. I put some microphones around the 4R while driving to try and narrow it down (I'm an audio engineer), and it sounds like it's coming from the front left wheel well or just on the other side of it in the engine compartment. It doesn't get louder or change pitch with speed or wind increases, and like you said it's more prevalent when it's warm out or I've been driving awhile.

We've been talking about it a bit more here too:

Hopefully someone can figure out what exactly is causing this, super annoying! Looks like there's some 6gen Tacoma owners with it also, few videos on YouTube about it.

My dealer said they won't look into it again until the parts for my brake squeal come in, in case that's causing it.

If it's a bearing or other suspension issue I'm guessing it can affect either of the front wheels.

not sure what you are hearing ???

the beeping sound ???

the wind noise is drowning out the sound from what i can tell. get a foam covered mic to maybe help isolate the noise.

if its the slightly beeping noise (from what i can tell) it could be a few things.

1. check the chain on the spare tire and tie it off
2. check for door moulding that is loose and or catching air at speed (our 23 tundra has door moulding that is sticking out and whistles at 70+ mph)
3. check for loose trim around the front half of the vehicle

it sounds like a harmonic from what ever is flapping in the wind at speed
