Just got my ORP - gotta say the stereo is the most disappointing thing about it. Read this entire thread - i concur, the JBL system, not that great. Upgrades are in my future.

Slighty off topic but one would think that with a premium sound system in it that Toyota would have placed sound proofing in the areas that obviously need them. Just another cost cutting measure yet the increased pricing doesn't reflect that of course.Just got my ORP - gotta say the stereo is the most disappointing thing about it. Preferences and opinions. My ORP sounds great. High quality, awesome, especially on lossless Apple CarPlay.
Also, earlier in this thread, many were complaining about not enough subwoofer. They didn't realize that on our 4Runners, the subwoofer level is tied to the front channel and so changing the balance from the front channel to the rear was actually reducing the subwoofer level. It seems that the quality of sound depends on the source of the music, some times it sounds awesome, others times it sounds like AM radio quality. I don't have any pay service other than Sirius but tried Amazon, Spotify and UTube music and each sounds different.

Yeah, still a bonehead move by JBL! & Toyota. Subwoofers should always be on the rear channel or on its own separate channel. Also, earlier in this thread, many were complaining about not enough subwoofer. I disagree. I prefer the way it is: tuned for the front seats.Yeah, still a bonehead move by JBL! & Toyota. Subwoofers should always be on the rear channel or on its own separate channel.
