The rear light has a bracket that can disconnect from the OEM light by undoing the plastic clips. Once removed, you can put the Meso hatch light on it and clip it back up on your headliner.
No drilling required on the rear as well.
Unsure which plastic clips you are talking about. Is it these little square ones on the housing next to oem light plug?

Those clips are the ones you'll need to remove. Check out the video by Meso on how to remove it.

Just got these a couple days ago and installed them today. Overall install was easy. The dome light took about 5 minutes to replace and the map lights took about 15 minutes. Using a trim tool to assist in getting a firm grip on the overhead panel really helped get it out. I still did manage to break two of the bezel clips. For those who don’t want to drill, it’s definitely possible to route the wiring through existing holes. I didn’t drill any holes at all.

I am, however, having issues with the map lights not activating as expected. I’ve got mine set on “door” and the led module on the passenger side operates as expected, but the driver side doesn’t always come on when the door opens. I have to tap on the led module and then the light comes on.

When approaching the locked truck and using the key fob to unlock, once again, the passenger side comes on but the driver side does not.

I checked the connections several times and even took the whole thing back down and re-installed everything, but the same behavior persists. Any ideas?

Overall, the quality feels quite cheap for the price paid. But, they appear to be the only game in town for red LED replacements of the OEM interior lights

I just finished installing my map lights just now. Im also curious as when i walk up to the car, none of the map lights turn on. Only the dome light. I would also be curious about this

As for door, both of mine turn on when door is open

For anyone else who may run into this issue, the workaround that I settled on was cutting a small piece of plastic to use as a shim between the led module and the surrounding trim. I stumbled upon that by noticing that if I used something to wedge the led module tightly against the trim, the lights always worked as expected when flipping between “off”, “door”, and “on”, as well as when locking/unlocking the truck via key fob.

Not much of a solution, but at least the lights now work as expected.
