Had a chance to install mine this past weekend. The difference is literally night and day. It's a darn shame that the amount of money we pay for these 4Runners that the OEM lights are such a joke being so dark.

Couple things noted:

-Removal of the overhead console is easy if you use the pry tool and approach it from the front of the vehicle. The 2 push-in style clips are at the front of the console. Do not try to remove the console from the rear-side as there are plastic hinge clips that are not meant for removal.

-Removing the 10 bezel clips were kind of a pain at first. I recommend using a flat head screwdriver as mentioned in the video, but also at the same time, sticking a pry tool under the bezel while pushing the clips with the flat head screwdriver.

-Didn't disconnect the battery and had no issues. I did make sure to have the light switch on the overhead console in the "off" position when reconnecting the wires.

While is is a pretty pricey upgrade, it is totally worth it. Especially if you have to access your vehicle in the dark every day like me (early work commuter).
Which video did you watch? Planning on doing mine this weekend.

After a couple of days with the dome light installed, I noticed that it randomly will turn on/off while driving. This is not only annoying, but very distracting when driving in the dark.

Anyone else having the same issue? I also noticed the on/off button is very sensitive and cheap feeling with no haptic "click" when you press the button, unlike the button to change the light color which is more robust.

Anyone else with the same issue? I've reached out to 4Runner Lifestyle where I purchased it from and MESO customs. Will report back.

First of it that i'm hearing. It shoudln't turn on while you drive unless you turn the lights on from the switch above.

Turns out, there was an extra plastic piece jammed under the power button. Removed it and now the light is working perfectly.

Be careful unclipping the map light housing. The bezel snapped in half without much pressure while working on the clips.

Anyone know the part number for the bevel or the whole assembly? Unfortunately I snapped some of the clips off of one side. I should have known better but wanted to do it myself!

Also anyone have problems with the rear hatch window (up /down) button not working after install. All the others work but that one for some reason…
Thanks in advance!

It doesn't look like they sell just the bezel. Looks like you'll have to buy the headliner console as a whole:

Thanks! Figures. Now I need to figure out the rear hatch window button issue. Everything else works except that button.

I disconnected and reseated the connections multiple times and no luck…
Dang. Sorry to hear man. It's insane how hard it is to open those clips, and yet they break so easily.

Appreciate the sentiment, bro. My own damn fault. That’s the not problem at hand now, can’t get the hatch window switch to work now…hopefully the forums, Meso or yotaxpedition can help…I’ll get it all worked out.
