.... The rock sliders have done their job, I already have a nice dent :) in one.
A DENT in the rock slider? Pic or it didn't happen!

I expect them to get scratched up, but they shouldn't dent...

I have no complaints about the westcott lo profile roof rack. Until I added the awning and/or rtt I didn’t see a major difference in MPG. And that was with a light bar. I did have some issue with awning brackets that did not thrill me from a CS standpoint.

Since December had been going out solo dirt roads so had to be careful on road trips. We went on our first Santa Barbara 4WD club camping trip to Anza-Borrego Desert State park and Ocotillo Wells SVRA. Great going out with a very experienced group and we spent two 8 hour days blasting thru the desert with people who knows the area. My 4Runner was the only non-lifted truck, there were 6 jeeps and a Lexis GS. My silver girl performed fantastic! Powerful, comfortable, maneuverable, fun the drive. My rock sliders had a work out. I needed black touch up paint for a bunch of spots that the paint was scrapped off underneath and the dent. My wife had never been on a true 4WD adventure, we has a blast.

Those rock sliders definitely did protect your rocker panel, kudos to you for having rock sliders. Should be one of the first mods for anyone planning to off road their 4Runner.

I am still surprised to see the dent. I've been rocking Budbuilt sliders on my 4th gen for 7 years and slid against rocks and trees, slammed them down on rocks, and used them as a jack point and never had them dent.

I cannot tell from Westcott's web site what is the thickness of the steel in their tubes, but it doesn't seem to be sufficient from what you experienced.

I have the Cali Raised, like the lighting options, minimal wind noise, slight hit to MPG, nothing like the hit I got moving to 10 ply tires though. Ha!
How big of a hit on the mpg?

From OEM Toyo's to the 10 ply Nittos, went from about 20 to 17 MPG, then with roof rack add looks like I am about 16. Only had rack on a couple weeks, will have a more solid number after a bit more driving.

10 ply and WCD lo-pro with lightbar, averaging 15-17mpg. If I have the rack loaded, 13-15mpg

If you have a chance, can you measure the height of the front piece with the light bar on your WCD Lo Pro? I’m assuming the majority of drag is going to be produced here when the rack is unloaded.

Ok - that works. So I’d be pushing about 3.5 inches unloaded. Pretty sure that’s less than the ARB that came stock. Appreciate it!

Got it… still think either the Lo Pro or Modular will be net lower than the stock 3/4 rack. Appreciate your help.
Yes. The Wescott sits about 1/4 or so lower than the top of the antenna.
