How long did it take to get your 4Runner from the day you left a deposit

thats an issue with the dealer, not toyota.

once the vehicle is sold to the dealer, dealer start playing their own game with consumers.

its no different in CA than in USA. our dealers down here play games from one extreme to the other on pricing and rules and it varies wildly from state to state.

some markup $5k in price, some require you to only take dealer financing, requires non refundable deposits, require you to take stupid add-ons, etc.

so its not toyota's fault, find a different dealer if you can.

i've been waiting since dec-2024, finally built on 22-aug-2025. arrived in portland oregon port on 16-sep-2025.

and i am in the usa, granted 2 hrs from estevan, sk ca and 5 hrs from winnipeg, mb ca

Deposit on July 3rd. Truck arrived at dealer on Sept 10th and I picked it up Sept 11th. It had not been built when I put in the deposit but I was told it was in the build queue a the plant.

oh and $500 deposit that counted towards final price. No markup and dealer was willing to adjust MSRP when it suddenly decreased after reaching the USA.

Yes. In my case on the $1K deposit, I made sure they put down final price as part of the contract. Turned out there were still weasel words in there, such as still requires manager's OK. But when the car arrived they honored the contract to the letter. So, as Nodak suggests, find a different dealer.

as my dealer has certain rules, $1000 non refundable deposit, but they give invoice price. so the 10 month wait is worth it to me. its the same deal we had with our 22 --> 23 tundra, 10 months wait but we got it at invoice.


here is the price of invoice on our 23 tundra of 62,758 and the msrp per window sticker

and now for our 25 4runner platinum where the invoice will be 63,114

so it really comes down to each dealer being different. i give a little (non refundable deposit, long time for an allocation reserve request being fulfilled) to get invoice pricing. to me that is worth the wait and hassle. each person is different.

I put my deposit one 4th of June, 2024. Locate Winnipeg MB, I was top of the list when the vehicle is released, it takes all the way until yesterday (Sep 26) for me to receive a confirmation message from my dealer saying my vehicle will be delivered around end of November 2025

Stopped in at a dealership on a Thursday and saw they had a Platinum in Wind Chill Pearl white in the showroom. Did the deal that day and picked it up the following Wednesday.

The dealer told me minimum 4-6 month wait and I just wanted to get some of your experiences of how long the wait was for you. I love the truck and I am excited for it which only makes the wait time worse so I am hoping to hear good news in the replies of how long people waited for theirs. I bought mine from a dealer in Mississauga ON Canada

Put a refundable $500. deposit back in July 2024, dealership received the 2025 4Runner TRD Pro in April 2025 and picked it up in May 2025, 9 months wait. Couldn't get one in the lower mainland of BC, dealership was only accepting orders from leased 4Runner owners. Which is a stupid practice for Toyota Canada. Had to go outside of the lower mainland, still stayed with a Toyota dealership in BC, to get the vehicle. No regrets of getting the ride, just hated dealing with the nonsense.
