How long did it take to get your 4Runner from the day you left a deposit

Hey everyone ! I recently ordered a 4R platinum near the beginning of August. This is the first time I’ve ever bought a new car where I am waiting more than 2 weeks to receive. The dealer told me minimum 4-6 month wait and I just wanted to get some of your experiences of how long the wait was for you. I love the truck and I am excited for it which only makes the wait time worse so I am hoping to hear good news in the replies of how long people waited for theirs. I bought mine from a dealer in Mississauga ON Canada

Placed a deposit on July 7th. Picked up the vehicle on September 6th. It was during this time I studied everything about the 4Runner...right down to the molecular level! I'm sure my picture could be posted in the DSM-V Definitely happy as a hippo!

That’s a lot sooner than I expected ?? Did they tell you it would be a long wait or were they pretty accurate on the delivery? And buddy I think I’ve watched every video possible about this unit. I absolutely love the refresh they did, I almost bought a 2023 2 years ago but I was t impressed with the interior or specs so I’m happy I held off until the 2025 refresh

ordered my platinum last feb and just received notice from dealer that it was just built aug 18 and possibly have it by end of sept. almost 8 months. they originally said wait time about 4 to 6 months. This has been been a hard year for autos especially Japan. i can say that there is no concrete timeline now days

8 months is a crazy amount of time to wait, I don’t know how these guys are selling cars with a wait time like that !! Like I get it, the truck is sick and Toyota is awesome but to wait that long for any car is crazy. Luckily I have a car and I’m not in a rush in terms of needing something to get A to B but I can’t imagine that being the case for a lot of other buyers. I hope mine comes in around Christmas time

Originally, the anticipated delivery date was for early October. Once it made the allocation list, the VIN changed and I noted the status of factory to port. It arrived almost a month early. I, too, was close to purchasing one a couple years back. Happy I didn't! I really like the body lines of this refresh. Definitely a keeper! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the fake engine sound played through the speakers while in sport mode.

23 tundra platinum blueprint 4x4 5.5ft, allocation reserve request entered originally as a 22 tundra platinum blueprint 4x4 5.5ft in 2022-05-04, had to change the allocation reserve request in sept-2022 since MY22 were no longer being produced. vehicle was scheduled to be built 2022-11-24, pushed to 2022-12-7 then finally built on 2022-12-8. railcar to regional port and arrived 2022-12-16. put into QC hold until 2023-02-16. arrived dealer 2023-02-21, drove off lot 2023-02-22.

2022-05-04 to 2023-02-23 = 9 months 18 days (294 days)

2025 4runner platinum heritage blue. allocation reserve request put into dealerdaily 2024-12-13. vehicle built 2025-08-22. loaded to ship on 2025-09-03, expected to portland on 2025-09-15.

expected to drive off lot no later than 2025-10-29 but as early as 2025-10-03 or 2025-10-10

best case time line is 2025-10-03 = 9 months 20 days (293 days)

worst case timeline is 2025-10-29 = 10 months 16 days (319 days)

platinums in red then heritage blue are the least built trims currently.

reds have for the last 3 months have avg between 2-4 avaiable to buy per week

heritage blue have avg during the same time frame 12-17 per week to buy

other colors have avg in the mid 20's per week

Canada & the USA have quite different allocation process. Keep in mind most on this forum are American and the volume of new 4R flowing into the US is substantially more than Canada. We can’t easily buy out of province in Canada either

Models are starting to drip quicker into Canada now but yeah, I would anticipate a 4-5 month wait for a Platinum in Canada. It also depends how many are on the list before you and how soon your dealer gets allocated ‘a’ Platinum. You may wish to put deposits at a few different dealers. I did

If you are set on a specific colour your wait time may be extended.

I put deposits at 3 dealers and the one dealer happened to get allocated my vehicle and trim at the end of July. I ordered in Feb & took delivery at the end of August, but that doesn’t really mean much. I may have one of the first Limiteds in the GTA. If I wanted a different colour I would likely still be waiting for a new 4R. I understand only a few platinums have made their way to Ontario so far.

As long as deposits are refundable (which they all were for me) I simply increased my odds of getting what I wanted. I asked how many were waiting for Limiteds at the dealers I ‘ordered’ through. Get an honest ‘order taker’. Lol

FYI - it will be worth the wait.

put my deposit down in april 2024, i believe i was number 37 in line at the time. got word may 2025 that someone ahead of me in line backed out at the last minute on the color and trim level i was waiting for. Went in on a wednesday to fill out the paperwork and drove it home that saturday

I live in SW FL. Went to my local Toyota dealer in late March and put a non refundable deposit of $500 on a Sport Premium in Blue. Was told it would take about 6 to 8 weeks., maybe longer. A few days later I decided to change the order to a Wind Chill Pearl. It arrived in the dealers lot in late April. Only about 4 weeks total.

I put my deposit on May 1st for a Pro. I am still waiting. I am east of Toronto.

I put my order in on April 17th with no deposit. I was informed that it was being assembled the week of August 18th and can see now that the status is set to "Port to Dealer". Hopefully see it by the end of the month or early next month. I was told when I ordered that it would be 3-6 months. The wait has allowed me to bring a larger down payment to the table which I am happy for, but it has been a long wait! Now the wait seems even longer knowing it is finally state side.

Update: Took possession the day after it arrived at the dealership - Sept 25. So a little over 5 months total time.

I put in my order on May 23rd with a 3k deposit for an Everest ORP Hybrid, arrived at the dealership on July 18th, picked up on July 19th. Was originally told it would be a 4-5 month wait for my build, but ended up getting it way earlier than expected.

That’s good news man! It looks like a half and half wait times so far with everyone that’s replied, did you get it sooner because someone backed out or another colour was available or was it yours 100% from the start ?
