I have a Thule box that I use on my F150 that I’m hoping to also use on my 4runner. I did a little test fit today and I wouldn’t be able to open up the rear door without hitting the roof cargo box.

I have the factory cross bars. Are they able to be moved up? It looks like I have about a 1/4 - 1/2 “ of room on the rails still or any other suggestions would be helpful thanks. I’ll attach a few photos for reference.

Hello. I had the same issue. The cross bars move but not enough. It’s the rails that would have to move forward towards the front of the truck and that unfortunately is not possible. It really sucks to have to buy a $1000+ roof rack when the stock one should just work. :/

I did see another post with someone who has a different model than I have so I have to do some research and see if that makes a difference. I have a force XT. I believe they had a motion XT.

Well, I was able to make some adjustments. I realized the Thule box mounts are able to slide back-and-forth so I moved the crossbar up to the next position and slid the track inside the thule box forward and it fits perfect.

for reference, I have a force XT - L
I will attach a few photos in case that helps somebody in the future.

Nice! Looks like this size will fit skis and snowboards? How bad is the wind noise at highway speeds?

Yes, it will fit skis and snowboards. Haven’t actually had it out on the highway. Just did a test fit in the driveway. I’ve had the box on my F150 before on the highway and I didn’t remember hearing a lot of noise, but we’ll see you what it’s like on the four Runner this winter.
