Getting rid of dealer installed vehicle's tracker

Well, I emailed my rep and they confirmed that they did not install a tracker on my vehicle. Without messing around down there, I followed the OBD-II cable as far back as I could and it was all one long continuous wire so I feel a little better that I may not have one. Maybe I'll do a more thorough inspection later, but I may be OK

I have a black one as well. I got under there yesterday and followed the wire bundle from the ODB port all the way behind the knee airbag and up behind the head unit. It seemed to be one continuous bundle tied into what looked like factory attachment points. I am pretty sure mine is all factory. It would take a lot of time to remove all the panels and the head unit (which I did) for someone to install something up there - I would imagine it would not be worth the time/expense for the dealer to do that.

I hope none of you have the ultimate tracking device in your pocket, purse, ect...

That is not the only concern. If you read the ToS for these GPS units the company sells your driving data to insurance companies, including your own. Increasing costs and opening up the door for even more data mining. Luckily my dealer just did the ones that plug directly into the OBD port and mine was yanked out prior to purchase.

Mine is also black and I did the same even though I physically took the one they had plugged into my OBD port out and handed it back to them. I don't think they are white in every single case. This wiring all looks very factory and there is not splitter. I even bought an RF detector and scanned under there I was so paranoid and there was notta. I could also see in the GPS app they had still registered me in the unit is still sitting at the dealership and now in another vehicle.

I'm pretty sure I have one of these in my TH. I've been meaning to remove it but I'd like to know if anyone has actually removed it from their 4Runner given that the video is for a Camry. There are several panels that have to be removed to get at the connections and I want to be sure that I don't screw up the plastic.

I checked mine and the OBD port is black, I had similar findings as well.

I posted this on 4G Tacoma forum too (as I also own '26 Tacoma).

Not all Toyota OBD II ports are white plugs. I have '26 4Runner with black plug (P/N 90980-12D97 marked on it), so don't be pulling the wires without careful inspection. I removed the underside panel where the OBD II port is located, then traced the wires. No extra tracker found! (My '26 Tacoma has a white port)

I just checked mine and it has the same part number on it.

The video I linked above suggested that not all of these trackers are hooked up via the OBD port. It discusses that these systems all seem to have a common fuse known as the DCM ( or DCM/Mayday) fuse. It also says that pulling this fuse does have some side effects as Toyota tied other specific features into the system to deter owners from simply pulling the fuse. One feature they mention is the in car microphone.

I am not familiar with any of these trackers and have no idea if any of the information in the video is accurate.
