I have to replace my left rear shock and dealer wanted $1,300 for the part. Found it at another Toyota dealer with a 33% discount ($870). My dealer said it’s due to a Father’s Day sale but my particular dealership doesn’t participate in that promotion. So just a heads up sounds like there may be some discounts out there.

So, what dealership had the 33% discount?

Also, what happened to the rear shock?
Was at Rausch Creek in PA and at some point I smashed it on a rock or ledge. It broke off the protective guard and broke the adjustment knob such that it just spins now and I can’t adjust the shock anymore. My dealership - who I really trust as I know the owner - said that Fox will not sell them parts or give them diagrams or charts of the shock such that it can be repaired. They will only sell a new shock. Dealership told me I could research online and if I could find parts they’d help me try to fix it but just wasn’t worth all the hassle. Nobody can actually diagnose the extent of the damage and I could waste a ton of time going back and forth trying to fix, and then still have a problem. So just swapping it out.

I'm curious, shouldn't that be covered under warranty or is it excluded due to trail damage?

well shocks are not part of the ext warranty plan so i am guessing toyota see's them as wear and tear items.

everything else is covered around the shocks though

you could say the same for brake pads and tires and any liquid/oil that can be replaced. :ROFLMAO:

i have seen some aftermarket shock armor that could protect the shocks lower attach points.

Thanks for sharing these. Probably worth it. Only looks like NYtop fits 2025.
