I ordered a 5th limited wheel from AutoNation parts online. The box was visibly beat up on arrival and the wheel was damaged inside, chipped on the edge in several places

So I reported this to them, sent it back, and they sent a new one out. The replacement’s box was in even worse condition, and the enclosed wheel also had large chunks out of the edge in several places

Kinda perplexed. Just ordered from another vendor. Hopefully someone knows how to get a brand new OEM wheel shipped with no damage.

Order it from the dealer. Our nearby dealer has their parts delivered by Toyota every morning from a distribution center in Cincinnati. I've order 2 differing sets of wheels from them and the wheels and packaging was in perfect condition. They also sell me items at a discounted price which is very nice

I ordered Trailhunter wheels directly from Toyota Parts and had them delivered to a local dealer for about HALF of what I could buy a set on eBay for.

I was fortunate and ordered during a nationwide 25% off sale, but...don't go to your dealer's parts counter, you'll pay 20-40 percent more than if you order from Toyota and have it delivered there.

Not sure what to say to that. I order my wheels from the company of the wheel. If I take it to a shop I have them ordered all of it and I just pay them.

Unfortunately local dealers won't offer the same prices as these online parts places.

Here's the kicker: upon closer inspection and comparison of the photos of both shipments, it looks like they turned around and shipped the exact same wheel and box back to me as the replacement.

My local dealer wanted full MSRP for the wheels when I stood in front of them at the counter.

I ordered, and paid, through the Toyota Parts website, at the reduced price. They were delivered to the same dealer that wanted full MSRP. They weren't part of the financial side of the transaction at all.

I showed my dealer the pricing on Toyota's site and they gladly matched pricing.
