Has anyone installed one of these on a TRD Pro? It looks pretty simple, but I’m wondering if it will trigger tow-package messages because it connects through that wiring harness. https://www.diodedynamics.com/hitchmount-led-pod-reverse-kit-for-2025-toyota-4runner.html

it will since the canbus will detect a abnormal power draw. i think someone else posted maybe here that it did trigger the trailer function

I have one on my newer Raptor and I was getting weird issues with the C1R+Brake model and the towing light. Switched it to the standard C1 which is only a backup light and a tail light. That model didn't cause any issues.

I kinda wanted it for the F1-like brake strobe, but I’m not sure it will work.

may forgo the brake option and just go with only the backup light

do you have the TBC switches on the front dash ?

is probably the correct question to ask, the pigtail and the 4/7 pin connector has no bearing on the tbc control software built in

i mean my 2014 came with the oem pigtail and 4/7 connector but no brake controller.

I have it installed on my 2025 TRD PRO without any issues (Reverse and Brake).

@Nodak, I don't have the tow tech package, therefore, I don't have the TBC switches on the front dash.

well that would explain the no error messages since you dont have the TBC installed. the TBC works by sensing a power draw from the 4/7 pin adapter thru the canbus.

either way, i ordered the brake light + backup light, i will see how it goes when it gets here.
