I went ahead and bought the hitch light with brake strobe and installed it on my TRD Pro today. So far no error messages and the Pro definitely has the towing package. I can't really see all the functions from the driver seat, but the tail light does flash when I open the lift back door, so I think it's working fine. When it gets dark, I should be able to see a difference in back-up lighting. Good for now, if anything pops up I will re-post.
just a heads up, i bought this from @OffRoadUSA.com , pretty fast delivery but wish they had a better way to give you a tracking number than installing 3rd party "shop" app. ordered on 25-oct-2025 and arrived 30-oct-2025. had no way to track the package since i refused to install the "shop" app to track the package.
bought the hitch light + brake function. the install couldnt be more plug and play than anything i have seen. literally took 5 mins tops to do the whole thing.
took longer to get on the ground on my back and find the clip to unhook the oem 7 pin harness than install the whole kit.
heck took just as long to clip the retainer clips to be able to insert a lock pin and clean up the snip than the install.
havent tried the back up light or brake light function as its 930pm cst and its 40F right now. will try tomorrow when the wife is able to assist in testing.
will edit and post results in this post.

Yep, I’ve had mine for like 2 1/2 months absolutely great piece of gear for ease and what it does fantastic
drove the vehicle twice today. during daylight and also at night time.
no error codes popped up.
also noticed the light projection is in a somewhat narrow block cone. was hoping it was more diffused projection where the light projected in a more broad 270/300 degree cone

are u sure? i know the "blink" is different from my Tacoma. i thought mine wasnt working either, it doesent "blink" when i lock the car, only if someone hits the brake
Had someone stand behind my car. Just solid when I brake. Otherwise works perfect.
