I’ve been thinking about the good struts, but realistically won’t be wrenching on the motor much. But, I hate the hood prop approach enough I may just do it anyway.

Does it seem to make a significant difference?

Did 100 miles today… as mentioned it’s definitely quieter.

Generally things are just toned down. Interestingly the turbo noise is the biggest difference. You still hear it, but. It’s a lot less pronounced. The spool now sounds like it comes from the front lower driver side of the vehicle vs passenger side hood area. At idle there is less clatter.

I am not sure if the aftermarket options are any good, but this OE part seems to make a reasonable difference imho.

Dropped on the OE crossbars today. I remember the SET charge for these was $600 on window stickers, I grabbed them from my local dealer for $260.

It’s really easy to want to put them on backwards. Otherwise install was dead simple. They are really well made (by Yakima) and fit perfectly.

As a bonus they have a T slot, which was news to me.

Yeah, SET is something else. Here in the southeast, they charge $1,599 on the window sticker for cast aluminum running boards. I bought a brand new set (Black Friday special) a few days ago for $808. Quite the racket.

I have been mulling the same boards. They are sitting in my cart.

Yeah, everyone has their opinion on which running boards / sliders are the best. Lots of options out there. Personally, I like how the cast aluminum ones don't stick out too far, they have the TRD inscribed on them, and just look the best to my eye. I say, go for it. This is as cheap as you'll find them and there aren't many 'take-offs' options out there on those like you'll see with the predator steps. I originally liked the predator steps the most but over time began to like the black cast aluminum running boards better.

That's where the trailer brake controller is on ones that are equipped with the tow-tech package. You'd think that they'd spend two hours coming up with something other than a storage compartment for ants on models without that package, but that's Toyota. They put poverty blanks on the highest trim vehicles they make LOL

not so much a mod than a part SR5 doesn't have.... I got OEM D-pillar lights and they
really light up the cargo bay so much better than the little stock LED chips on the side

...SR5 is pre-wired for these, open connectors were just layin in there waitin for a job to do
