Wow. Incredible integrity here......
What does integrity have to do with what I do with my own property?

If a new owner wants to buy a used car, they should do their homework. As with any used car, it comes with risks.

And if I sell my car and it is not maintained, it will be priced accordingly, so stop with the BS integrity.

Based on your statement, I should maintain my vehicle at the highest level so I can make the new owner happy, LOL

Maybe look up the word integrity?

No one said it should be perfect. Saying you dont care if it breaks down on the person you sell it to shows you have no integrity. Doesnt matter to me. It is typical of people nowadays. I just know not to buy anything you might sell on here and now everyone else does as well.

Gotcha! Let me start changing my oil at every 3k now so I can make sure the new owner doesn't break down. You know what, I'm going to change my tires at 5k as well, so the new owner doesn't slip in the rain. I am doing this because I have integrity.

Some people will stop and help out someone on the side of the road, others will hit the puddle in the road and spray them, "should have pulled further over!" Every Truck, car or motorcycle I have sold I knew that the person buying it was getting a well maintained machine and that makes me happy.

There used to be a sizable delta between “normal” synthetics and Amsoil/Royal purple.

The GTL base oils (Pennzoil Platinum) are quite good. Costco/Supertech meet the GF-7 standards.

If you’re running a shorter interval, it doesn’t matter much.

After break-in, about 15K miles, I'll switch to Super Tech 5W-20 forever. Change it every 6mo or 3k miles. I doubt it will see 3K miles in 6 Mo, but it will be changed every 6 mo.
Until 15K, oil will be changed every 6 Mo./3K using Toyota oil 0W-20. Probably take 3 years.

First, Happy Independence Day!
Old topic indeed. What I do with all my turbo cars is frequent oil changes the first 5000 miles, then 3000 to 6000 miles oil changes depending on how and where I drive. 10000 mile oil changes is not advisable for a turbo engine unless you don’t care about it. I use only quality oils like Mobil 1, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, Motul, Liqui Moly, Triax, Amsoil, etc. Always follow the manufacturer recommend viscosity. (5W20 instead of 0W20 is fine of course). I avoid Walmart, Costco or oil changes with bulk oil. I always change the oil myself with the highest quality filters I can get. To sum it up, oil is cheap, repairs and new cars are expensive. These new turbo cars are very high maintenance compared to the old indestructible Toyota, Ford, Chevy, etc. vehicles we used to drive and slightly neglect in the past. Don’t be cheap, change your engine’s oil!
