Here's a great All-Terrain A/T tire test for winter performance in snow & ice.

Each tire was tested and rated in:
❄ Snow Handling
🧊 Snow Circle
🚙 Snow Traction & Braking
🧊 Ice Traction & Braking
In this in-depth test, you’ll see how the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT, BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO3, Toyo Open Country AT III, Nokian Outpost nAT, and Falken Wildpeak AT4W perform in extreme winter conditions — and how they compare to a proper Nokian Hakkapeliitta winter tire benchmark.
Tires Tested:
Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT
Nokian Outpost nAT
Toyo Open Country AT III
BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO3
Falken Wildpeak AT4W
Test Size: LT 265/70 R17
Temperature Range: -7°C to -13°C
Location: Controlled snow and ice testing facility

With an overwhelming number of really great at tires out there it's hard to find the perfect one. The same review site recently mentioned the new Pirelli Scorpion XTM A\T that seem to click all the boxes for both on-road and off-road. Currently driving a Trailhunter 4Runner and the Toyo Open country tires. While the Toyo tires are actually really good on road, driving in the San Juan mountains of Colorado on trail they weren't great in snow and slush. I know an upgrade would be BF Goodrich ko3s but I'm concerned about the extra weight and difficulty in balancing them. It looks like the Pirelli scorpion tires clicks all the boxes, anyone have any experience with these? So far it looks like the tire reviewers really like them but they've only recently become available in more sizes.

Dueler A/T Ascent is a sore miss, and approaches near Blizzak levels of grip in the snow:

that poor rating on the Falken Wildpeaks is disappointing.

I agree, I've watched several other reviews with similar results and it's disappointing.

even more disappointing is seeing that I need 15 inch wheels for the Mickey Thompsons

I guess I will keep the Falken Wildpeaks I have on my 6th gen for now but next year I will probably replace them

Well the Mickey Thompsons at that size are unnecessary. That is unless you drive your vehicle 100% off-road.

That is wild. Blizzaks are SO good. At here in the PNW, above like 3000-4000ft.
