I have a Limited with the stock 20" OEM silver & black wheels and I hate them. I will be replacing them with 20" OEM black wheels from a Platinum / TRD Sport / TRD Sport Premium.

What would Ya'All recommend as a premium snow/ice tire for the 20" OEM wheel? I stopped at the local tire shop, and they recommended going with a wider tire: 65/75/85 stock = 265/55R20)

For snow and ice, narrower is better, more pounds per square inch of pressure on the road surface. The best premium snow and ice tire is the Nokian Hakkapellita with carbide studs. But another good choice is the Bridgestone Blizzak DMV2. I have also read good things about the Michelin X-ice.

a good all around is the cross climate 2

weird pattern but they are awesome.

if you want dedicated winters, you will have to swap them out for summers. winters are usually to soft for the summer heat.

dedicated winters usually stay pretty soft during the cold months, which make them really good for snow but they dont handle the summer road heat and tend to melt somewhat to the hot pavement. due to this they wear down faster than summer or all season tires.

I've had 2 sets of Blizzaks on my 2007 4Runner. LOVE THEM.

Now with the 2025 Limited I'm going to get Blizzaks again and put them on the stock chrome wheels and get some 18 black/bronze wheels with a more rugged looking tire for summer.

I'm leaning towards the 255/55r20 size for the Blizzaks because I heard narrower is better (255 vs 265/275) and I've read I want a larger aspect ratio if possible, and 55 is the largest the 255s come in.

The only other options are much smaller width and slightly taller aspect ratio 245/60r20, same width and slightly smaller aspect ratio 265/50r20, or wider width and slightly smaller aspect ratio 275/50(or 55)r20.

Any one want to give me their input on what size to get before I drop $$$ on the tires?

i would use this website and do compares

https://tiresize.com/

you can compare 2 sizes and then see the how far the speedometer is off vs the oem

here is a quick link to compare alt sizes
