Banks Boost Tubes Install - on 2025 4runner ORP

They route the intake charge in through the intercooler and out into the intake tract . Stock tubes are rubber hoses with metal connectors, replacements are usually constructed of aluminum tubing with silicone and billet aluminum connectors Aftermarket are usually larger diameter and dissipate heat where rubber won't, and aftermarket tubes shouldn't flex. The reduction of restrictions in the intake tract reduce heat while increasing flow which will make a little more power. Are these a game changer? A little, but when adding a CAI, a better Turbo inlet, exhaust and tune, these items can make a beneficial difference. I don't think these are for our pocket protector, slide rule crowd worried about how to soften their ride. Heat is the enemy of power and these definitely help

It’s like the saying “you spend 10% making 90% of your horsepower and 90% making that last 10%”. This falls into the latter category. They look nice but won’t do much if anything at stock turbo power levels. I’ll have a set soon and will do some on dyno testing.

10/90-90-10 "rule:" Yeah, that works in a lot of places and I figured similar here. I have things higher on my list than this for now (and most of them do not involve my 4Runner!). It would be interesting to see if any change show on an objective test.

While they do look impressive. I’m sure if there were substantial power gains, the manufacturer would provide dyno information.

I just ordered a set from a different manufacturer, no offense to Banks though. It’s my understanding these are an excellent choice. I’m going to have a Downpipe, more efficient intercooler and the charge pipes all installed at the same time. Pushing for (or chasing) that last 10%!

Im Waiting for OTT to have their high flow downpipe available soon. Already installed a Mishimoto Intercooler

I've had them on my truck for a while now, but haven't been back on the dyno yet. I just put a larger turbo on, so I won't have a good comparison. In all honesty, I don't expect there to be any meaningful gains from the charge pipes. It's a popular modification on a lot of platforms, but more for appearance and durability vs power. At higher power (larger turbo) it will likely make a larger difference.

Currently a one off hybrid turbo that I had built locally. It's been a journey- that turbo failed within 20 miles of install several months ago, and they fixed it and I finally got it back on just a few weeks ago. I haven't gotten the truck back on the dyno with it, but hopefully I can this week or next. If I were in the market, I would wait for some better options, and tune on the stock turbo if you haven't. The stock turbo is going to be the best fit for most owners.
