Anyone know how to remove the Headliner?

I’m trying to sort out a rattling moonroof track and was hoping someone has gone through the process of removing the headliner. Anyone have a guide on how to do it? I could probably figure it out but it’ll end up taking me 5hours and a bunch of broken clips.. so any information is appreciated!

Because my local dealer is a pain to deal with when it comes to “rattling” complaints. They basically don’t do anything and just say it’s normal operation. Rather not waste my time with them.

just start removing trim it's pretty simple to pull headliner, just takes a while and
you need room for all the trim you need to yank

it’s mainly been present during the colder months so I can’t say it stops when the roof is open. I’ve noticed that when I retract the shade into the headliner, it rattles with less intensity but is still present. Did you figure something out that might help?

Mine was rattling so bad in the summer when the roof was open. Sounds like cables or clips that were disengaged or broken. I had it to the dealer twice. Second time I went on a test drive with a tech to show the rattle in action. Long story short, they found a TSB for Highlander sunroof that was also a severe rattle. It was all because “lube” was not applied to a part of the roof. They DID NOT have to drop the headliner. I could not believe the difference in improvement. It was amazing!
