Just got an email from aFe stating they just released a new exhaust system for the standard & hybrid 4Runner. Very interesting design with a tuned sound expansion tube. You usually only see that kind of style on highly customized exhaust systems. I'm very eager to hear some sound clips and videos. Anyone plan on picking one of these up?

AFE is great. I'm sure they'll sound great. Definitely would go with the Apollo. The vulcan's pipe sticking out like a sore thumb looks awful on a 4Runner. Not the right style for a rig like this. Hidden tail pipes always look the best on SUVs/trucks

Yeah I like aFe. I ordered their dry filter CAI and it's arriving tomorrow. I have my eye on the Apollo, just need to hear some sound clips first. Really hope that sound chamber removes any 4 banger rasp.

Following… need to hear it!
^^^^THIS^^^^

I realize this is a 4 cylinder but I'd like a little bit beefier exhaust note. And a horn that doesn't sound like a Prius.

I checked out the pics. While I like the look of the Apollo, it's 409 steel which is nowhere near as good as 304, especially if exposed to salt and other harsh conditions. It will be interesting to see what sells better, and how they sound.

I have installed both of the Afe Momentum GT cold air intake as well as the Afe Apollo exhaust. The combo made a big difference in the throttle response. Seems to really open up the engine. Definitely has more power, especially from off the line. Power is smoother. Using 87 octane. Has a much throatier deeper sound. I just love it. Not sure about gas mileage yet. I did not have to remove the spare tire. It took about an hour and a half to install. The only challenge is where the new exhaust bolts onto the flange with spring bolts. It took two people. One to compress the spring and the other to get the nut on. Other than that, it went very smoothly.
