I generally love my Trailhunter, but the stock horn sounds like it belongs on a Fiat. Has anyone replaced theirs with a deeper sounding horn? Sure, louder is almost always better, but I’d settle for an aftermarket horn that at least sounds appropriate for this type of vehicle …

I bought a premium Toyota OEM horn from sticker fab that I was able to install in about 15 minutes. It was about $80 I think, but now sounds like My old 5th Gen limited horn. His video on YouTube shows you how to do it and it couldn’t be easier.

Thank you so much for this thread idea. I just signed up yesterday and couldn’t for life of me think of alert topic. Patiently awaiting for my 6g Limited to arrive (eta another 4-6 mos.), have kicked myself repeatedly for not activating the horn on my test drive to see if Toyota had replaced the meep meep that is on my 5th gen. Will definitely go this route after it arrives.

I went with the Toyota Premium horn. What a difference.

Well, it had been like 10 days since I've spent money on some sort of mods so I started getting withdrawals. Had to do something. So, I installed the 'Toyota Premium horn' today. Pretty easy even for a mechanical noob like me. True plug and play. So now I have a horn that is appropriate for the size of my truck.

So to back up a little here. We bought a 25 Tacoma SR5 first and liked it so much that after a few months we bought a 25 4Runner SR5. The Tacoma had a loud truck horn just like our 21 Tundra did. To my surprise the 4Runner sounded like a 1974 Honda Civic. It was weak and we all heard it. That being said, the Tacoma is made in North America and the 4Runner is made in Japan. Knowing the Japanese, things like loud horns are most likely regulated on vehicles built there. And that's all I got to say about that. -Forest Gump

Bought these NEOGET horns and installed them on Saturday. Appears to be the same build quality as the hella but sounds like a slightly lower pitch. They work just fine.

Here is a DEMO. Letting everyone know since I used to own a 2021 Tundra Crew that had an actual truck horn that was loud. The Toyota Premium horns you can get on amazon are the same thing. https://amzn.to/4mZIJ7C
