First of all, congrats on being one of the first with a Platinum! They are few and far between!

LC's are built at two different plants, Tahara Plant and Hamura Plant. You have to pay attention on the sticker to see which plant a LC was produced in, but seems like both are producing excellent LC's!

Its such a struggle for me to decide. There are pros/cons for each, I want to want the 4runner over the LC but just from a driving perspective of the two LC's and two 4R Limited's I've had the chance to drive, I do prefer the LC. My main issues with the LC is lack of storage space for stuff up front in cabin, don't love the smaller gas tank and prem gas requirement. The Platinum def gets points for a nicer interior and I do like the bigger screen and fact it has additional drive modes including the custom one vs the 3 modes that come on the LC. I wish it had a unique interior vs being basically the same as the Tacoma.

Good news is I'm not in a hurry, and there is no timeline I'm following, I will likely end up with a black platinum at some point if i had to guess :)

The really good news is that they are both excellent vehicles. There is a thread in here showing 4Runners being delivered. You can use that thread to track down your Black Platinum. Good Luck with whatever path you take.

Yeah I track that spreadsheet and I’ve talked to every dealer that currently has a black allocation. Unfortunately they are all presold even though the sheet doesn’t reflect it. Only ones that are not presold are ones with 5k dealer markups. I believe this Friday will be the next batch of allocations so we will see what comes out.

Land Cruiser is expensive enough that the "correct" choice is to rather go for the Lexus variant with the turbo V6.

LC with the 2.4 I4 isn't too chipper.

Yup that's why you forego the base level Luxus and go with a 4Runner.
