The iSeeCars Longest-Lasting Cars, Trucks, SUVs and Hybrids To Reach 250,000 Miles and Beyond (Study Link)

Since 2013, iSeeCars has published an annual analysis ranking the vehicles most likely to stay on the road for exceptionally high mileage. The latest edition reviewed data from more than 174 million cars to identify models with the greatest likelihood of surpassing 250,000 miles. The top 25 list includes eleven SUVs, seven sedans, six pickup trucks, and a single minivan.

“The 2025 iSeeCars Longest-Lasting Cars list features vehicles with between a 9.1% and 39.1% predicted chance of reaching 250,000 miles,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “With the average car having a 4.8% chance of reaching 250,000 miles, even the lowest-ranked model, Acura’s MDX, is still nearly twice as likely to see that odometer reading. The top-ranked Toyota Sequoia is truly impressive. With a 39.1% predicted chance to reach 250,000 miles, the Sequoia is more than eight times as likely to hit that milestone as the average vehicle.”

Ford not making the list... Disappointing. So many variables involved here, many human factors so, I really don't think the data can be accurate. I need to dig a little deeper into the methodology.

this is very subjective (but the volume of cars in the survey helps sway)

but each person will view it differently.

i've seen people with toyota's swear they would never buy a toyota again after getting complete failure of a model and have better luck with one of the big 3

and i have seen the other side where people have jumped ship from the big 3 to toyota or lexus.

and i have a co-worker that swears by the VW brand, thats all they get

those are the exceptions to the rule but % wise you have a better chance with toyota/lexus than big 3

if you go by the word of mouth

How can they say the 25 4Runner is a long lasting car when it’s only been out a few months. Fucking surveys are about as good as the news…

there is no way a 2025 4runner with less than a year be considered best long lasting vehicle, someone would have to be doing 25k per month in a 4R to get to 250k in 10 months per the survey.

and the 2025 4R only started selling in the usa in jan-2025

I get it. Hence why I asked where does it specify on the webpage what generation? Not trying to be a dick just trying to clarify I mean end of the day not a big deal

i am just guessing, since the survey was 250k and longevity. wasnt trying to be sarcastic about the reply. its just hard to grasp the idea that a 2025 could hit 250k in 10 months.

i could understand a tundra hitting that in 10 month doing hotshot work, but not a 4runner

2025 4Runner I-Force Max
Without doing a study or adhering to any hearsay, I can personally attest to having driven a 1988 GEN 1 4Runner to over 400K miles. I have driven a 2004 GEN 4 4Runner to 352K miles. I have had many other makes of vehicles that didn't begin to approach those numbers. Clearly, the longevity of the 2025 4Runner is to be determined. Toyota generally makes a reliable and durable vehicle, past being its pattern, and all that.
