I live in the PNW, it rains a lot, I'd guess I use my wipers more than anyone NOT in the PNW. I never noticed it much with rainfall in the fall, but now that it's winter the last 3 months have been brutal, probably using them almost daily. My wiper motors are sooooo effing loud, I have to turn my stereo up to 40 to drown them out. (Then I hear the wonderful door rattle too LOL - getting that fixed too. haha)

The harder it rains the faster setting I put on, the worse they get. I have an appointment next Monday at my Toyota dealership and hope they have an option for a replacement or something. If there's another thread like this, sorry I missed it, couldn't find one.

the older you get, the less likely you will notice the sound :ROFLMAO:

After a few months I noticed a LOUD warbling sound from the left side. A assume the drive is on the drivers side.
Gets louder under a light snow load, or mush from the road.
Be interested what they say.

Totally agree the new wiper motors are way too noisy. Drives me crazy. Seems to be the right noise level, or frequency, or something to penetrate my brain. Please post if you have any luck with options to resolve.
Left coast too, so rain is a sure thing.

Truly appreciate all the sarcastic replies as I would probably do the same thing on a post, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that my windshield wipers are really fucking loud and when I drop this kind of money on a vehicle, I shouldn’t be hearing my windshield wipers motor…

In Southern CA I do not use the wipers much, but definitely have. I did not find them noisy at all, so I am guessing there is a fixable problem with yours.

Mine aren’t noisy but people have definitely said theirs are. So I guess I’d take it to Toyota.

Have same vehicle and same issue , took into dealership and compared wipers with other 4 runners on lot. Huge difference with sound - they warrantied new motors but said there’s a company wide back order ……. This was two months ago / new wiper motors still hasn’t come into dealership yet

yes, quite noticeable on mine too.

also very surprised that there aren't auto sensing wipers at this price point. Toyota's $50k product has them so they are definitely taking a bit of a p#ss with 4runner buyers.
