more sidewall helps more with absorbing potholes and expansion joints than more air
70 aspect ratio is where you want to be at, but 65 and 60 can work if you have a fatter tire, but you get into a speedometer issue the more out of spec you get, either +/- speed error vs actual on the display...
so if that is true, how does tss 3.0 compensate for different hardware from across japan and usa and mexico for the same tss 3.0 across different models built in different locations?
toyota doesnt source every components from a central points, the usually country source (ie japan parts are...
only time i use a trickle charger is when the battery gets too cold during jan-feb (those -20F temps are brutal). i dont have a heated or insulated garage so it gets pretty cold in there.
if i go on a trip for more than 3 days, i usually just disconnect the battery than put a trickle charger...
if any future platinum owner looking for an updated tables, just @ me in a post and when i have time monday thru thursday (excluding federal holidays) i will post an update list.
i no longer post a weekly update since i have my platinum, but i willing to update as new platinum owners are...
for the event recorder, the hardware is already there from what i can see (camera's if you have 360 pvm) in tss 3.0 (2025 4runner)
what i dont know is how it is saving the video's. did they add a storage option in tss 4.0 or was it only a software/firmware change between tss 3.0 vs 4.0
or go into the head unit and turn up the volume on notifications ? or something like that.
i know i turned down my proximity alerts beeps to 1/2 level and now i am wondering if i should turn them back up in volume, i hardly notice the sound when i leave the garage stall in the morning.
i wonder if he is hearing the toyota injector tick?
toyota has a very distinctive high pressure fuel injector tick, its normal across all BoF vehicles.
i normally dont hear it on non BoF vehicles like camry, and other like it.
but i am so use to it, i get worried when i dont hear it.
and it...
toyota's mile to empty is a very conservative drive to zero. typically toyota models will reserve 10-20% of a tank size for reserve once you hit zero miles to empty.
bigger tanks tend to lean to the 10% mark and smaller tanks lean to the 20% side
its to ensure you dont drain the fuel tank of...
here is a good example of tss 2.5 on the 23 tundra vs tss 3.0 on the 25 4runner
23 tundra tss 2.5 features is in the 1st pic vs the 25 4runner tss 3.0 :
tss v 3.0 vs 4.0 i only see very specific new features that i dont see in my 4R platinum
mostly on the ev side of a vehicle
forgot to add, some version of tss require certain hardware to enable that tss version, hence why a gen with a lacking tss may not get upgraded tss due to how or when...
toyota doesnt upgrade the tss version on a gen model, they keep it as is until the next gen come out. (edit: they might during a refresh, but i dont remember seeing that happen)
our 23 tundra has tss 2.5, the hardware isnt there for tss 3.0 and toyota will not upgrade later years to higher tss...
some of the features may trickle down to vehicles with tss 3.0
some of the features are software based since the 360 camera is already in the 4R now, its just a matter of having the software installed
thats why i am hoping the event recorder can trickle down since its recording to a SD card...
not sure how much the 2025 4R tss 3.0 can be migrated to the v 4.0 but the built in drive recorder would be the only thing i would like to filter down to tss 3.0
this new tss 4.0 coming on the new rav4 2026 edition is going to be pretty cool

i know back when we first got our 23 tundra i was looking for painted oem parts. i use to look at sparks parts and https://www.paintedoemparts.com/painted-oem-models/4runner but i havent used them
the only advantage you will get mostly with the hybrid is from dead stop momentum with a towing load. the electric motor will assist the gas in getting your load moving.
it will also help with passing with a towing load since you have that extra torque to assist the gas engine.
the hybrid on...
the problem with getting a 3rd party solution is volume. not enough TH in the usa to justify a solution like this, even less so for those that want a bypass as it is.
i mean when i was tracking stock levels in the usa for all hybrids from roughly 6-30-25 to 9-29-25, the avg was right around 300...
if you are already use the hitch mount point for something else, i would modify your existing one to mount a dune flag
or do the above or fab one like above
i thought the manual said 10% ?
its 15% but personally i wouldn't go past 10%
and the price difference between 87 and 89 is not that much to stay within 10%
but 88% that is a weird not seldom seen rating
