Pinging Sound when accelerating

Has anyone else experienced a Pinging Sound when accelerating? So far, I have tried different grades of gasoline. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't reproduce the noise. Has anyone else experienced this type of noise?

The reason I tried premium gas in mine. With it the engine purrs like a kitten.

Nope. Does it only do it in motion, or does it also do it when you rev it up in park? Does it make the noise when it cold, warmed up, or both? Just curious.

i wonder if he is hearing the toyota injector tick?

toyota has a very distinctive high pressure fuel injector tick, its normal across all BoF vehicles.

i normally dont hear it on non BoF vehicles like camry, and other like it.

but i am so use to it, i get worried when i dont hear it.

and it gets worse in winter time until the engine bay warms up

it probably is worse on the 25 4R since they got rid of the sound deadening on the hood on the lower trims.

high pressure fuel pump is noisy, all 8 injectors are noisy
never heard a ping or knock on mine in any mode or throttle input
87 octane pump gas. thing is smooooooooth

No pinging here. I use exclusively Costco regular grade gas.

No pinging with my ORP. The noise you're hearing is probably just direct injector noise. Actual pinging from too low of an octane typically happens when the engine is under heavy loads like racing or heavy towing up steep hills. Take it to the dealer and they can diagnose for you.

I think i did once few days ago and tried to look/ hear it again if it happened again. But nothing somfingers crossed.
btw, in my previous with other brands, dealer services guys will not do anything meaningful. They will probabky say to that they can’t diagnose it and try using premium gas. I used regular gas but from brand gas pumps only only like shell bp exxon. Good luck.
