Hello! I recently purchased a 25' 4Runner Sport near the end of March and clocking in around 2300 miles so far. This is my first 4Runner. I owned a 1st generation 2001 Toyota Tundra 4.7L RWD.
I live in the Bay Area, California and just had my first road trip to Joshua Tree. Currently used as my daily.
I honestly love the engine, has a lot of pep and doesn't seem to struggle with the vehicle's weight at all.
It also does well in the twisties, I took it out to the roads by Alice's restaurant. Obviously it has practical limitations due to the size/weight but still handles extremely well.
Gas wise depends on road conditions and habit. I have gotten anywhere between 12mpg - 34mpg on single trips. Currently have a total average of 19.3mpg. On my daily commute I will average between 12-22mpg depending on traffic conditions. The commute has a variety of steep inclinations, such as going up a bridge (includes highway portion) , stopNgo traffic, a lot of lights.
My only gripe are the seats in this price range. The driver should have at least 4 way adjustable but is only 3 mechanical. I also had a 21 Camry SE, I feel like it should have at least those soft tec material. Or maybe I should've just porked the extra 5k (and interest) on the leather seats.
Sorry for the lack of pics, haven't really taken a lot.
