I'm only 6'0" but i have a long torso and the sunroof impeded on headroom. The front row I was very close to making contact with the roof and then in the backseat I wouldn't be able to lean forward with the sunroof hump. Luckily, my dealership got an allocation for an ORP with just the tow tech package optioned so I jumped on that right away.

Looking for a 6th gen TRD off-Road premium without the moonroof… just a month ago, you could find them everywhere.. now, there aren’t any to be found and it looks like all the new allocation builds have them added… how many of you out there don’t want a moonroof or specifically bought your without it and why?
I don’t want it because.. I don’t fit with it (6’-4”) and I don’t want to worry about a random rock (AZ) breaking it.. plus the extra cost for insurance
Ordered my TRD ORP without a moonroof on purpose. More headroom, less expensive, fewer areas of a potential water leak, less maintenance, have enough sun where I live anyway. The Toyota dealer found the exact 4Runner I was looking for.

I originally didn’t want it, it was included in the ORD premium package. Having said that the headroom in the sixth GEN 4Runner is extremely low. Having the moonroof up there makes it a little less claustrophobic.

Weird... im nearly 6'5 and have no issue fitting with a moon roof. Same for 2019 4runner of my daughters....They make a magic button on the side of the seat that lowers the seat...(IF you're 6'4 leg room should be more of a issue than head) Ive used that sead adjustment in every truck and suv ive owned since my 2001 chevy silverado. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I did not want and care for it. Luckily I want the Trail Hunter. After all it is an off road vehicle will be the last thing I wanted is the sun roof. One wrong move on the trail and Houston we have an issue. One wrong move, one rock are all it takes and you are looking at a hefty bill. Less opening and closing especially top of the roof is better. Don’t have to worry about leak or anything.
when was the last time someone had a sun/moon roof leak.... These arent 1986 camaros with t-tops..

dropping the seat down will cause people to sit with the legs is a more straight up position. If you driven the last gen Tacoma; you would understand. The bench seating position in that truck was one of the major complains about owners that they fixed in the latest gen by raising the seats. Sunroofs eliminate 1-2 inches of head room with the frame.
Dont drop it flat all the way down, lift the front to bend your knees.... Im 6'4 230 and have zero issues driving this or any 4runner. 8hrs this weekend never once did i hit graze or bump my head on the top of door or hit the roof with my head.

Every vehicle I've owned has had a moonroof. I have a TRDORP with a moonroof. Roof open with back window down is great. Love how Toyota allows you to open it a couple extra inches after it stops. Definitely a better experience for those in the front.

Only negative for me is the second row seating feels very cramped for tall people. It's a big negative and I'm on the fence if I would opt out if I bought this truck again as we often have people in the back and it sucks for them.

Well than u must be not very inform becuase it is already happened…
lol its "because" maybe the search bar is hard for you to use. Becuase nothing comes up when you search moonroof or sunroof leak here. Really seems its a major issue in new 4runners..🤡

When I bought my '26 TRD ORP, I could not find one without moonroof in my Toyota distribution region in the multiple dealer allocations. I would have preferred to purchase a 4Runner without moonroof.

Interesting video for why some moonroof/sunroof explode/fail....especially starting at about (10:45).

good thing 4runners don't have panoramic moonroofs.. Weird you couldn't find a American who made a video about this seeing how this is not a common issue at all.

I know it's a rare problem, but I thought his explanation for glass failure was interesting...that's all....

In fact, I ended up buying a 4Runner with the moonroof...so no foul... (y)

Funny someone mentioned an 86 Camaro with T-tops because I had one! Z28 (non- IROC) - wish I still had that one... But also an '81 and a '79 Firebird, both with T-tops also... As well as various other cars with sun/moon roofs. And while I've only had minimal issues with any of them - minor leaks and a track misalignment, it's just not my thing anymore. Barely ever used them...

So, I specifically wanted my 4R without one, and wound up traveling 200+ miles out of state to get the exact one I wanted... (granted it is a non-premium OR)
