Stock 2025 4Runner SR5 on 275/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT4W. It’s awesome how throwing some tires on can change the game. Fall in Michigan helps too
Discount Tire charged me $1,430 OTD and I kept my old tires. 45 minutes start to finish. They bagged and loaded my old tires in trunk and I’ll attempt to sell them on marketplace.
Ride is exactly the same if not better, leaning towards better (crappy Michigan roads). Sounds the same. Ride height seems slighter higher, as expected. Acceleration under normal driving is almost the same just takes ever so slightly more pedal. Pedal down and throwing MPG to the wind, no difference. Shift points while city driving seem a little “stuck” compared to earlier today when I had the stock 245 all seasons attached, which is odd. Speedometer is off by a couple MPH @ highway speed, registering a lower speed than you are actually traveling i.e. don’t go 79 thinking you are staying under 80 because you are actually going over.
Visually, I love them. It’s exactly what I was going for. Obviously I’m wondering what 285 would have looked like but I’m super happy with the new look nonetheless. Can’t wait to air down a bit and hit the trails this weekend.
Just some day 1 thoughts and feeling for what it’s worth.

UPDATE: 33psi cold, feels great on road and did well with some beginner terrain/mud/sand/water.
Mix of city, highway, and trail has got me 19.1mpg in the last 24 hours. Before today I had lifetime average of just under 23mpg w/245’s and air dam over 6k miles.

I’m guessing tires are responsible for almost all mpg loss rather than air dam removal.
Great post, do you still find the shift points stuck? The gears are likely kept longer as they
are programmed for 245 tires.
