Stolen! Key fob cloning theft method used to steal 2025 4Runner 6th gen

Sad news, I picked up my 4Runner (platinum) last Thursday and this morning at 3:05am our 4Runner was stolen using key fob cloning.

Yes lots of cameras around, I also have a camera, police said 3 more 4Runners were stolen over the weekend in my area

Hopefully they find it asap! 4runners being stolen isnt that common over here. hopefully its not a new trend. we have a real problem with kia and hyundai as well as ford/chevy pick ups here

Kitchener Ontario, 1 hour from Toronto, yes we bought an anti theft system from the dealer, police said more likely an inside job???

should be able to resolve this for those that get the digital key on your phone, but i dont imagine too many are willing to pay the extra cost for just this feature.

and if i remember correctly, not all trims allow this feature.

That absolutely sucks. I feel for you. Do you have any tracking system on it with the anti-theft . I have a couple air tags in my vehicle

Yes we bought a tracking device that it was bought through the dealership, we called them right after we found out that the car was stolen, very rude customer service, no helpful.

This is exactly why i installed an aftermarket immobilizer. Ain't no-one getting my 4runner unless they put it on a flatbed.
