Makes a pretty good case for steel even if you're not planning on difficult trails.Weight is important. So is durability. Based on the appearance of his skids, the guy who did this review is obviously more hard-core than I am (and probably most others too), but he prefers steel. He does say that everyone has to make their own decision based on the kind of driving they do and their own preferences.

Curious if anyone knows the weight of the TRD Pro AL vs the steel Trailhunter front skid plates. My dealer hasn't been able to find out.
i ordered the front trail hunter skid for my limited… they only have one of the protection pieces underneath the limited
weight on the box was 24 lbs.. so its 24 lbs or lighter… i think i saw it’s actually closer to 21 lbs… unless im missing something

I'm looking at doing the same thing on my Limited. Any +/- feedback?

Thx for the response. Makes complete sense. I’ve been considering the same mod. Any noticeable difference in MPG?pretty straight forward, i like the profile of it, i also removed the air dam too. the car feels a little more grounded if that makes sense
so i dont drive a whole lot highway and most of my driving is within 5 miles of my home.. that being said im around 18.5 city, highway im around 22.5, which im ok with, the air dam probably helps but its minimal to where ill sacrifice it for the look. ill get drives where im over 24 as well but my average is around what i stated aboveThx for the response. Makes complete sense. I’ve been considering the same mod. Any noticeable difference in MPG?
Appreciate the feedback.
