Phone/device mounting solution

Wanted to share my phone and device mounting solution which is working great.

I’m using the Offroam phone mount and charger, and a storage tray (Amazon) that has four 1/4 inch threaded bolt holes for ball mounts and sits on top of the display.

Four months in and it’s very solid, and squeak and rattle free. Easily holds my phone, passenger phone or GRMS radio, and a GoPro, plus the extra storage is welcome.

+1 for the Offroam magsafe mount that goes over the start button. It isn't cheap, but I love it.

Check the product page. There's an animated gif that shows the "install" process. Basically you just use a little pry/spacer tool to open a gap between the dash pieces and it hooks in.

Be careful when mounting. It's simple enough but if it goes wrong, it can easily scratch the power button bezel and the plastic trim.

All magsafe/wireless chargers I've used do tend to run warmer than standard cable charging. I assume the magsafe charging mount would be no exception.

The magsafe mount that doesn't have charging (which I have) is fine. I've done a 4 hour trip with my phone on the mount and plugged into the port next to the head unit for charging. Neither the phone or mount felt unusually hot.

Mine doesn’t get very warm. It also doesn’t charge very fast but it’s faster than the one in the center console.

I just installed the offroam product. Very nice. Easy install. Plus first time I sat in passenger side of my 4Runner and noticed there is another C charger outlet on upper right side of screen.

if i remember, the side usb-c port is not powered.

only the 2 by the wireless pad and the 2 in the rear center console

Not sure of the wattage, but I've had it wired to a charger and it did fine.
