I currently have a 25 TRD Sport in Underground and I feel like I get scratches and swirls just by a gust of wind lol. I’ve always hand washed this. Long story short I was rear ended and I’m considering trading it in now that it has been repaired for a 26 4Runner in Heritage Blue

Does Heritage Blue scratch just as easy or is there another color that is less scratch and swirl resistant?

I think it more to with the quality of the paint, some may mask it more but I'd think it would be white or cutting edge.

White or Silver will always hid dirt/scratches the best (bonus points of it has metallic flake in the paint). The darker you go, the more it shows imperfections.

I have a Heritage Blue, it hides dirt decent, but because it lacks any metallic flake in it, it will show scratches/swirls quite a bit. Not as much as underground or black, but more than white or silver.

it's not the paint, it's the color temp.

all paint scratches about equally when talking about car paint

it's what your eyes can see first vs what your eyes notice last

white/off white hides the most*, your eyeball sees the
color and ignores most of what is not that color at a glance
(dirt and scratches)

black hides the least, your eyes don't notice black right away
but for sure it will notice imperfections in the black almost instantly
...with a short glance at black, imperfections stand right out

[that is why black cars are super hard to keep looking sharp]

underground is no where near as bad as black, but it's worse than
silver or white

*yellow spectrum is actually the most noticeable color for the eyes,
but it's a rare color for cars so not really worth mentioning that a scratched
and dirty yellow will hide the most imperfections in a passing glance

So far I’ve had ice cap, cutting edge (silver), and wind chill. In my humble opinion, I think the cutting edge was the most resilient paint. I did have a heritage Land Cruiser and that paint was super solid. Not sure if it’s the same though.

I miss my blazing blue pearl color I had on my 17 Tacoma. Toyota doesn’t seem to like to bring back some of those colors. I have heard white hides scratches better then other colors.

I’ve had many silver vehicles in the past and now a Cutting Edge 4Runner. They always look clean and perfect from any distance.

White is the most easy to maintain, looks the best when detailed.
Had one black vehicle and one silver.....Since 2009 White vehicles only!

My Underground is the worst paint I've ever owned on a vehicle. Absolutely ashamed and researching solutions after paint sucks should I wrap it and PPF (PS I ordered Toyota PPF ansd it sucks ass!).

I left BMW because of it's terrible flat screen dashes. Period. They abandoned me. And why I bought a toyota 4runner.

I spent a lot of time over thinking this. Landed on Cutting Edge. It has been great so far.

FWIW, underground is my fav color on the 4R, but on a beach truck… ease was the goal.

imo after having silver 4runners since my 2004, 2014

silver will hide light dirt better than white (ie : after rain dirt, puddles, dust) i've gone about 6 months without a car wash in a silver vehicle and the dirt unless you get nit picky isnt really noticeable

white hides swirls better than silver (ie : carwash brushes) i can spot swirls from the car washes on my silver 4runner way easier than on white cars
