Hello all!

I bought my 2025 SR5 4x4 at the end of September and wasting no time in getting it to where I want it. I am calling it the "Almost Done" build, since I keep thinking of 'one more thing' that I want to add.

Upgrades/Mods include:
  • Rock Sliders - Iron Ryno Fabrication
    • Ryan from Iron Ryno Fabrication is an amazing dude, look him up on Instagram (@ironrynofabrication) if you are in SoCal and want a set built and installed! He may start shipping soon, so even if your out of the state, hit him up. He is a genuine dude for sure. I will be posting a review soon.
  • Wheels - Method 703's
    • Matte Black
    • 17/8.5 +35
  • Tires - Toyo Open Country AT3's
    • 285/70R17 (SL Load)
  • Leveling Kit - ReadyLift 1.5"
  • Front Skid Plate - TRD
    • Got this cheap ($274 shipped) thanks to a promo code I found on the 4Runner Facebook pages for the Toyota parts site (PM me if you want)
  • Front Half PPF - Xpel
  • Ceramic Coating - Armour Detail Supply Phobic
  • Stock Tow Hooks - Painted with Rustolem Enamel (Safety Red)
  • Stock Front Emblem - Painted with Hyperdip Black
Coming Soon:
  • Tint
  • Custom License Plates (ordered already, but there is a 4 month wait)
As I take it out on more adventures, I will see what other upgrades and modifications I might want to add, but for now, I am loving the way its come out.

So by the time you get done with all of these upgrades do you think you could have just bought the TRD Pro and been done with it!?

Haha, well so far in upgrades (not counting PPF), I have spent $4,100 which includes:
- Wheels/Tires/Leveling Kit installed
- Rock Sliders
- TRD Skid Plate

I bought the car for around $44k, so I am in about $48k, so I still have some runway before I have to look at it and say "damn, that could have been a TRD Pro". But half the fun of these things is picking and choosing the exact parts and upgrades you want!

Yep my 5th gen TRD OR came with most of those upgrades. So I was happy paying the extra. Never wanted to upgrade Rock sliders as they smear mud/grime across the back of my pants when getting out.
I wanted to do bumpers and winch, but the list got to lengthy and expensive so I just enjoyed the truck as it was. Never really went into areas that I would need those, mostly just camping. And living here in SoCal we don't get much weather other than for me our occasional trip up to Big Bear or Mountain areas.

That makes total sense!

I have lived in SoCal my whole life, never been off-roading, barely been camping and this is my first vehicle that I can go off-roading with, so I am stoked to be able to finally explore all that SoCal has to offer.
Shoot, even just camping on the beach in the back with the back window open sounds amazing to me.

Well I'm not sure how much it cost but on x Offroad Maps is a pretty good solution to explore locally here in socal. It should pretty much keep you out of private property and also give you a clue on the type of Trail it is, meaning easy, moderate and difficult Etc.
And I think they give you a trial membership for a week. It's worth a look.

Is there such as a thing as a completed build? Lol. I think of all of us usually have a never ending wish list for upgrades. Bought an SR5 4WD for the wife less than 2 weeks ago and already have Katzkin interior, Wheel and tires, and a few other lil mods on order, and had ceramic tint installed. But liking the build. keep it up!
