Oh well, I didn't want to, but had to put a cargo box on the top for a road trip because two big dogs get the entire cargo area.

Anyway, here's what it looks like, like a humpback or something.

Thule 614 Pulse medium. 14 cu ft. I mounted it just in front of the rear roof antenna and it extends into about 1/3 of the moon roof.

Oh, I'm keeping the stock front grill goatee on, for the maybe, slightly better MPG. Don't care if it looks stupid. My wife thinks it's cute.

Did you mount this directly on the Toyota issued roof rack? Or did you also buy Thule Roof Rack? Wondering about the weight limit of the bars

Used the stock Toyota cross bars. Published specs for the cross bar says:
  • Rated to support a maximum of 125 lb when weight is evenly distributed across both cross bars
The Thule 614 Pulse Medium manual says weight limit of the cargo box payload is 110 lbs and the cargo box itself weighs 34 lbs.

Do you find yourself getting close to the limit?
I only need to put backpacks, bags, etc. in the cargo box, so I won't go over about even 75 pounds of cargo in the box.

BTW, just did a quick test run at freeway speeds (75mph). Can definitely hear wind buffeting around the box (it's a little breezy right now too), but definitely not too bad. That was with the climate system and radio turned off. With the radio and climate control, it's barely noticeable.
