forgot to add, if you get condensation a lot in your location due to winter/cold weather, just be mindful that if you have short drives, you will eventually put a hole in your exhaust system. this is due to not warming up the exhaust system to dry out the water that collects.

my wife's tundra has holes in her 2023 tundra and it only has 14k miles on it. she only has a 2-3 mile drive to work unlike me where i have a 15 mile 1 way drive to work at 70 mph.

doesnt help our winters are brutal here so the condensation is really bad going from negative temps to operating temp and back to freezing temps.

I would worry about the "don't worry about it" comment.
Unless the washer hose was jammed up the exhaust pipe a wash is not going to cause what you describe.
I was told not to worry when a fuel/ air ratio sensor went bad.
They thought it could be loose gas cap.
As it turns out lots of engine damage can result from too rich or too lean mixture.
In your case, as mentioned by others, if it is normal winter water vapor that dissipates in a few seconds likely just normal stuff.
On the other hand you describe smoke that lingers.
Check the coolant level.
Sniff the cloud.
Your symptoms sound like coolant is getting into the combustion chamber.

In my experience, these engines can produce a noticeable amount of white vapor at startup and while idling, especially when cold. Turbo motors run hotter, and exhaust condensation is very common on newer vehicles with efficient exhaust systems. What you’re usually seeing is steam, not smoke.

The key differentiator is smell and persistence. If it dissipates quickly and doesn’t have an odor, it’s almost certainly normal condensation. Sweet smell would suggest coolant, oily or burnt smells would point toward oil.

If it’s only happening at startup or idle, goes away as the engine warms up, and there’s no smell or fluid loss, I wouldn’t be concerned.

When I first picked up my 4 Runner 3 miles on it, I smelt a burning smell, By the time I got home it went away and has never done it again. Maybe some oil that was spilt on the engine burning off.

some vehicles are shipped w a protective coating (used to be cosmoline) on the underside to prevent corrosion during transport. It’s going to smell a little bit while that burns off.
