Which is the best Drive Mode when using 4H or 4L

I have a TRD Off Road Premium and I was wondering if there are any issues to be in ECO Mode when using 4H or 4L? Or should we be in Normal Mode when using 4H or 4L?

You shouldn't be worried about economy when hitting 4H or 4L, like AT ALL.

That said, if you shouldn't be in eco in 4wd, they'd have programmed out the capability.

I've always been in normal mode, but no way you'd have an issue otherwise they'd remove the ability to

I cannot exactly answer your question better than the previous ones, but I have left it in eco when off-road--nothing major, but some rocks and dips. I did not see any particular concern. It seemed to me that, when in 4wd, it left the engine running all the time on my hybrid even when it would normally go to all electric, but I am not certain. Next time I am out I will probably play with the modes a bit more. If I remember I will report back here.

In snow eco seems to work better so the turbo doesn't kick in so much. Unless you're out power sliding then set MTS to deep snow and sport mode. Good time!
