Should I order the TRD black wheels as an upgrade? OR just order a set of TRD Pro wheels? from what I have read, they are different with a different offset as well. Strangely enough the TRD Pro wheels are cheaper

wheel advice - getting a new ORP

TRD Pro wheels are +20 offset
If you are going to stick with stock tire size (265/70R18) I think the PRO wheel (PT946-35240-2F) looks best and the extra offset (+20) adds just the right amount of poke (IMHO). However if you want to max out the tire size without rub you need to stick with close to stock offset (+55 on TRD OR wheels) which the TRD Flat Black option wheels (PTR56-35242-F1) provide (+45 offset). Here is a photo with all three wheels. I swapped the OEM 265/70 tires (Mich) to the TRD PRO wheels and moved the bigger tires to the TRD Flat black (which is without a tire in this photo) to get rid of rub with my big tires. (I gifted my son the OEM TRD OR wheels (and tires and spacers) for his 22 5G4R)
I believe if you buy the option wheels from the dealer, they cost >>$1K for the option and you don't get the original wheels - this is a ripoff. Buy the TRD PROs for ~$220 ea plus shipping (about the cost of the option - maybe less - I got 4 for $884.75 (shipping must have been free)) and hold onto the OEMs for winter tires or try to sell them.
Of course there are many here who would suggest going for aftermarket wheels and maybe even moving to 17". This is certainly an option - probably in comparable price range. I happen to like the Toyota wheels.
I replaced the OE wheels on Julie's ORP with the optional 18" TRD Option Wheel. Very happy with the choice. I reused the 265/65/18 Michelins. Last photo is the vehicle before the wheel swap and Westcott collar lift. Swapping the wheels seemed to change the color of the vehicle. $1325 for 5 from local Toyota Dealer

I'm not sure if you have your 4Runner yet, but if you don't and you decide to go this direction, it's important that you try to take the route @Scrappopatamus did and order the vehicle with the regular OE wheels, buy the TRD ones later, and swap them.
I was forced into the upgrade TRD wheels because "that's the build for this vehicle", paid the same $1325 upgrade price and I only got four (the spare wheel is still the regular OE two-tone one), AND I don't have the OE wheels to potentially sell.
It's one of my only gripes about my purchase, but you should know if you're asking this question.
