looks like a foam piece to dampen the windshield from flexing on the plastic and causing a squeak.

looks like it was not caught during QA checks or flexed out during the boat trip. they tend to get pretty warm inside the hold during open ocean travels.

redo would involve removing the windshield, adhesive and pretty much a new windshield replacement process

If that's what it takes, I'd hold them accountable and get it done..... However, I really hate to see dealers having to deconstruct stuff. Seems it never goes back together correctly or not as good as the factory.

Am I crazy or is this not a folded piece of paper like material?

Seems more likely a form or something fell into that gap from the dashboard or adhere to the windscreen...

Thats exactly what I thought at first. I had the windows tinted and had a strip of tinting applied to the upper 7 inches of the windshield and I at first thought this may have been a piece of backing that fell between the dash and the windshield and the installer missed it. The tint installer is pretty good at his job an he wouldn't even let me near my vehicle until after he had cleaned everything up so I doubt its anything left over by him..

I gave it a brief tug and it seems to be firmly attached at the other end so I just left it alone. I have a history of making things worse by trying to do stuff like that.

I'll swing by the dealership and see what they say.

LOL...Jokes on me. It's a piece of door edge molding/trim. :ROFLMAO::LOL:

I guess when I had it in a couple of weeks back to get that dent fixed in the RF quarter panel they threw that on the dash and they forgot about it/couldn't find it.

Thankfully no windshield reinstall is required lol
