Father's Day is just around the corner. So let's talk about dads' old cars.

Think back to those weekend road trips, grocery runs, and the daily rides to school. Those cars hold the sounds, the laughs, and the simple moments that made us who we are today.

What did your dad drive when you were growing up, and what's the one memory that still stands out to you?

It would be great if you could share a photo of that old ride!

1967 Chevrolet El Camino, with the legendary 327 engine! Loved riding in that.

Through most of my childhood, up to early teens, he drove a ‘67 Barracuda Fastback. It had Plymouth’s 6 cylinder unfortunately but one day it was stolen from where it t was parked behind his office. His office was a short walk from our house and he rarely took the car-go figure.
First thing he did was have a window cut and installed in the office so he could see out back, then went to an auction and bought the same car, only it was a ‘68 with an 8 cylinder. That car really hauled a**.
Then as it would happen about 6 months later he was walking walking home (from the office), the route took him through a hotel/bar parking lot across the street from his office and in the lot he spotted another Fastback Barracuda. Given their rarity in our town, he decided to stop and take a closer look. Well guess what. It was his stolen ‘67. It had a splash coat of paint and he could see the rally stripe that run front to back (Center of vehicle) through the paint and a decal on the glove box, he had affixed there. This Being the late 1970’s (no cell phones) he went back to the office, called the police and they arrived, went into the bar, found the thief and arrested him.
Unfortunately, as insurance had paid him out for the loss they kept it. So he went to their auction and bought it back, repainted back to the original orange with black rally stripes and kept it for another few years. Great car, lots of memorie.

1954 or 1955 VW convertible similar to this. Didn't last long after two sons arrived.

Anyone remember the fold-out semaphore turn indicators ??
