lol i use to be heating in usaf before i x-trained into data analysis. actually got to work on 2 navy boilers heating a b52 hanger (i say navy as they were compact as hell for mechanical room they were in and for the amount of steam they made to heat that hanger)

they eventually decomission them when the heat plant went away (high temp brine lines 400 psi) yes we had steam heat plant feeding the whole base to heat buildings up until mid 90s

Yes, those old bases were ahead of their times. I was at KI Sawyer over in Michigan working B-52s and things were similar to Minot.
