Got my 26 TRD ORP almost 2 months ago, for a little under MSRP. Also did an extended 5year 75k mile warranty. Along with a trade in 2017 TRD ORP for about $26k.

3000 under MSRP a month or so ago. TRD ORP. No moon with tow tech. No add ons*.

*While there were no stupid dealer add ons with an addendum, they did order this car with a bunch of stupid shit I wouldn't have otherwise ordered myself, but it was the price I had to pay to get an ORP WITHOUT moon roof but with tow tech. Examples, "connectivity kit" and "dash cam."

We bought a '26 ORP last Friday. Spent the past few weeks tracking ORP inventories using AI and the allocation spreadsheet on this site. Contacted 7 dealers within 100 miles that had ORPs in the color my wife wanted (Cutting Edge). Ended up about $5k/8% off TSRP....and all we contacted offered at least some discount upon first contact. Probably could have done a little better if we were more flexible on color and waited until Sept. 29 or 30 to buy. This despite dealers starting with "well most 4Rs we have coming in are sold before they even get here". The winning dealer is about 100 miles away...and they deliver!

Still lots of 2026 inventory out there, at least on ORPs (there were 82 ORPs within 100 miles of us as of last week...and 10 had just been added). Weirdly there are almost no ORPs to be found without moonroofs in the eastern US right now. 8-10% off TSRP seems achievable, but obviously some regions different than others

In SoCal I talked to number of dealers last month. Most best case was MSRP and a lot were 2-3k over MSRP due to pain protection or etching or ect.. I was able to to get closer to 5k under sticker price.
Coming from a 22 Tundra I really could have used the "pain protection" for all the engine issues

Acton Toyota. Not sure how much was the result of month/quarter-end, but they were very straightforward and responsive. We've bought a car from them before, but it had been awhile. I even had them tell me to take a deal from another dealer on the last 4R we bought ...refreshing honesty

New 4R owner here, black ORP non hybrid. I went online at Canobie Lake Toyota's site and inquired about the 4Runner I wanted to lease. I received an email within 10 minutes with a pencil attached that looked too good to be true. It showed 11% off MSRP, $542 a month with zero down. I could not be happier with the 4Runner and the car buying process to Canobie Lake.

In North Florida - purchased from AutoNation Pinellas Park (near Tampa) for 9.6% below MSRP. No moon roof, build included a roof rack and they threw in all weather mats when I asked at signing.

First, in Jax we went to Arlington Toyota & Butler Toyota in person. Butler was more laid back, Arlington pushy. Negotiated via text after getting quotes from those two and had a deposit at Butler. Lake City Toyota gave a slight discount which pushed Butler to go lower. I kept shopping, Coggin wouldn't give much of any discount, and then AutoNation South Austin (TX) had the truck we wanted and offered 7k off any 4runner. Traveling that far wasn't feasible currently so contacted two AutoNation Toyota dealers in FL, and Pinellas Park gave us this deal. Super happy with our pricing, even if getting there involved a couple weeks of work/negotiations and then travel to pick it up!

these have been documented on the tundras.com and in this forum

2023 tundra platinum : (drove off the lot 22-feb-2023)
msrp : $67,343
invoice : $62,758
9.319 % discount

2025 4runner platinum : (drove off the lot 10-13-2025)
msrp: $67,843
invoice : $63,114
9.302 % discount

2026 4runner platinum : (drove off the lot 9-22-2026)
msrp : $69,073
invoice : $64,222
9.297 % discount

EDIT : forgot to add, this is the same dealer i have been dealing with since 1990's. they have changed hands 3 times since i was originally assigned to my first base when i joined the USAF back in nov-1987 (assigned to the base in mar-1998).

originally they were aspland toyota (1 used), then jim ryan toyota (1 new, 1 used) and now minot toyota (13 new, 2 used), cedric theel toyota (1 new, i bought the 2018 tundra platinum from, they had a crappy general manager that was short changing trade in's at minot toyota and i went to cedric theel as they gave me $3k more on a trade in tacoma for a 2018 tundra for the same price minot was giving me on a new tundra. needless to say that general manager didnt last long as they lost a lot of deals due to him)

Were there trade ins on these deals?
What does invoice mean? What you paid before tax/title/reg? (AKA price of the vehicle before your local municipality takes their cut.)

I paid $67K flat for my TH last week at a dealership in NorCal. Dealer wanted $75K, I texted an offer of $67K flat. They texted right back ”yes”. They said agreed so quickly made me think I should have started at $65K. Oh well. ‘

Wrote up the deal for me while I was driving in and I left with the truck shortly after arriving. Very easy.

invoice is the base price of items.

to give you an idea look at this thread for option invoice price vs retail price.

https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/options-prices-invoice-vs-msrp-updated-2026.6714/

that is the price i paid for the vehicle before TTL and trade in

look at these 2 posts to see how my deals were done.

https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/my-journey-for-a-new-6th-gen-platinum.5917/

https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/my-journey-for-a-2nd-platinum.11103/

just a caveat, my process is not typical for 99.9% of the buying public. my relationship and long term buying from the same dealer and same people over the last 30yrs skews my process vs most people.

i also did this process with our 2018 and 2023 tundra platinum that was documented on the tundras.com forums also

i didnt start documenting my process until our 2018 but the process has been the same since roughly my 2004 4runner v8 sport.

its been tweaked over the years, but in a nutshell

step

  1. get invoice price of the new vehicle before you even talk about trade in or finance
  2. once the vehicle arrives at the dealer discuss trade in price (i use kbb as baseline and amount of trade in should be at minimum the middle of kbb suggestion)(our 23 tundra listed as 43k trade in, they gave me 45k and they are selling it at 51k with gold toyota certification)(also dont think you will get very good or excellent condition for trade in, be realistic and go with good, if you expect a dealer to rate you vehicle above good, then they are making that up somewhere else)
  3. all other things are set by the state so those cant be haggled
  4. doc fee's are spelled out on the dealer website, so that isnt a big deal (they only charge $299)
  5. they dont strong arm you on extra's, they ask but dont push it. they already know how things go with me, so they dont even ask if i want the the dealer vsa option (3rd party not toyota)

and final note, my dealer makes money off volume sold and meeting toyota quarterly goals. the kick back for meeting goals makes the dealer more money than trying to nickel and dime each customer.
