I built a free tool called VINdow Sticker that tracks 14,000+ 4Runners on lots right now with actual dealer selling prices — not just MSRP. See which dealers are marking up vs giving discounts, filter by trim/color/state, and find the best deal near you:

how do you actually know what dealers are selling vehicles at? If I bought one last month; do you know what I paid?

Interesting...looking at my states sales...folks should wait until the end of the year if they want good deals. Paying MSRP is crazy and many of them have thus far. A few folks got decent deals...nowhere close to what I got buying in Nov 2025. No way in hell I would pay MSRP for a vehicle unless there was a shortage like after covid and I had to buy a car.

Thanks for posting this. Prices are all over the place. I noticed a lot of the Platinums are selling at a discount. Anybody guess why this is? Also, who would pay 18k over msrp?

Because they are priced to high too to begin with. They make the most money off the high trims and can afford to discount them. They charge way more for those extras than what they cost them to add them.

in a nutshell, most people dont see the upsell cost over a limited hybrid.

you must really want the exclusive perks of the platinum over the limited hybrid which 99% of the buying public cant see the cost benefit.

$600 for the hud (only availabe on the platinum, the cost i pulled from a tundra price listing)

grey wheels on limited (gloss black wheels only on platinum)
chrome on limited (dark chrome on platinum)
chrome roof rails (black on platinum)
prem led tail lights (platinum only)
rain sensing wipers (platinum only)

button to turn off rear seat vents (no pricing on this, you have to manually turn the vents off on lower trims)

a lot of the options on the limited are standard on the platinum. if you option a limited to exactly the platinum the price differential is only about $2000

that doesnt include the cost the unique features that you get on a platinum so that might be the $2000 price difference

i just priced out a limited hv exactly how i have my platinum

limited msrp was $66,473
my platinum msrp was $67,843 (i only paid $63,114) before trade, TTL and fees

price difference of $1100, but i guess if you add the rough cost of the hud that you cant get on the limited ($600) and the rain sensing wipers, black gloss wheels, prem blue leather seats, black roof rails, dark chrome/black trim

you can see the cost ratio is about the same.

it really just comes down to the exclusive perks vs the extra cost.
